$67.5 Million Road Improvement Projects Announced for Boone County
September 4, 2018
U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao announced in August a $67.5 million infrastructure grant for three road projects in Boone County along I-71/75. The need for these projects is greatly amplified by the tremendous job growth in our area in the last 5 years — ($1.5 billion Amazon shipping hub, and other major expansions announced by FedEx, Verst Logistics, DHL and Kroger, adding hundreds of jobs and ramping up commerce in Northern Kentucky). Improvements will include double diamond crossovers at the Mt. Zion Road (KY 536) interchange and Richwood Road (KY 338) interchange, eliminating left-hand turns, and additional merging lanes on the interstate from Mt. Zion Road to US 42. We are excited to see these projects begin!
